Screen configuration reseting itself everytime i shutdown and startup my system

Hi there, just installed Unity a few days ago, i have an issue with my screen refresh rate, im trying to change it to 72 through nvidia-settings, wich i can do, and save the X configuration file, but everytime i shutdown and start my computer, or while rebooting it, that configuration resets itself.
And yeah, its kinda anoying.

i was having the same issue i noticed i had wayland enabled as i liked the animations. as soon as i turned wayland off and rebooted i still had the animations but i didnt have to reset the configuration every time
